Position Summary

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging learning solutions that support organizational goals, team member development, and operational effectiveness. Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to assess training needs, create scalable learning content, and ensure alignment with business priorities and industry best practices. Leverages instructional design principles, modern learning technologies, and data insights to deliver high-quality training programs that enhance workforce capability and performance.

Delivers accurate, high-quality curriculum within a specified timeline and will work with multiple types of content including web-based media and video-based assets supporting both training and broader organizational communications. Utilizes adult learning principles to develop instructional materials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and continuously improves instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and blended learning solutions to meet aviation training requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners (department leaders, SME’s, instructional team members, and program developers) to research, design, develop and implement effective training solutions.
  • Conducts needs analysis to identify knowledge gaps and recommend targeted, scalable training interventions.
  • Ensures curriculum aligns with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
  • Applies instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE or similar frameworks) to create structured and impactful learning experiences.
  • Develops multimedia learning assets, including video content, through scripting, recording and editing to enhance training, marketing and internal communication initiatives.
  • Maintains and updates existing training content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency across delivery methods.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness using feedback, performance data, and learning metrics; recommend improvements based on insights.
  • Manages multiple projects and timelines simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Provides timely status updates and reports on assigned projects.
  • Takes ownership of assigned projects and proactively manages resources and timelines to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and to department standards.
  • Supports end-to-end content development by integrating instructional design with multimedia production, including video creation and editing, to deliver clear, engaging, and audience-focused experiences.
  • Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Multimedia/Digital Media Production, Film/Video Production or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
  • Experience developing creative and engaging training materials for an adult audience across a variety of formats and media, visual and multimedia (training videos, voiceovers, screen recording, process diagrams, animated videos) content.
  • Experience with photography.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in photography and video production, including filming, editing, and post production using industry standard tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom or comparable software) to create polished multimedia training content.
  • Knowledgeable and functional in technical writing, including consistent and correct use of tense, grammar/spelling and terminology that is interesting and varied.
  • Ability to produce learning materials to include facilitator/instructor and participant manuals.
  • Advanced to intermediate computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills; ability to be flexible and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal and written means with individuals, small groups, and in front of large audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Multimedia/Digital Media Production, Film/Video Production.
  • Skilled in the use of Articulate Storyline/Rise.
  • 3+years of relevant work experience in Aviation or similar field and/or industry.
  • Experience developing skills based training, technical training, regulatory training, aviation training, safety training etc. for both unionized and non-unionized workforces.
  • Certificate in instructional technology or other learning disciplines.
  • Proficient knowledge of recognized desktop publishing applications including layout and design.

Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Development.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
