What You'll Do
As the Contract Maintenance Manager, you'll provide overall leadership for facility operations, maintenance, repair services, and contract performance. You'll serve as the primary operational leader, ensuring all services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contract requirements and healthcare industry standards.
Your Impact Will Include:
- Leading a diverse workforce responsible for 24/7/365 operations, maintenance, and repair of critical healthcare facility systems.
- Building strong partnerships with the Government Facility Manager by providing operational updates, recommendations, reports, and scheduling support.
- Ensuring all work meets contract requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Managing program documentation, contract deliverables, training records, certifications, permits, and Joint Commission compliance documentation.
- Directing subcontractors and vendors while monitoring performance and ensuring accountability.
- Recruiting, coaching, developing, recognizing, and managing project personnel.
- Overseeing staffing, scheduling, supervision, and workforce readiness during both normal and emergency operations.
- Ensuring employees maintain required licenses, certifications, and mandatory training.
- Safeguarding Government property and ensuring compliance with all applicable security requirements.
- Responding to contract changes, reporting requirements, and customer requests throughout the life of the contract.
- Serving as the on-site operational leader during emergencies by coordinating contractor personnel and communicating directly with Government leadership.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced leader who understands both the technical and operational demands of healthcare facilities management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (some college preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of operations and maintenance experience within a healthcare or medical facility
- Minimum 6 years of commercial building maintenance experience, including supervisory leadership
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare facility operations and building infrastructure systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of:
- The Joint Commission (TJC)
- National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework
- Active ASHE membership
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification
Schedule & Availability
This is a full-time leadership position working Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Because this role supports a mission-critical healthcare environment, you'll also participate in after-hours emergency response. When emergencies occur, you'll provide immediate leadership, coordinate contractor personnel, and communicate directly with Government representatives.
