Position Description

HSC Research Scientist in Abilene, TX. Perform biological technician job duties. Under supervision of research professor, plan, execute, and oversee original research projects involving drug discovery and biological research. Draft and execute experiments. Perform data analysis, interpret results, contribute to publication efforts, and disseminate research. Compile periodic data reports and review literature and research proposals. Provide guidance to personnel involved in research projects.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Planning, execution, and supervision of original research projects involving anti-cancer drug discovery and COVID-19 research.
  • Experimental design, execution, data entry, and analysis of research project
  • Interpreting results for publication, and finalizing publications, contributing to the dissemination of research findings.
  • Complete reports and conduct literature reviews and prepare various proposals.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications and manuscripts


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or closely related field, such as Biomedical Engineering and/or Biotechnology
  • Five (5) years experience as a Biotechnologist.
