Patient Services Supervisor - Combest Central Community Health Center

Position Description

Supervises day-to-day activities for the PSS team, ensuring coverage and efficiency across the assigned functional unit. Monitors performance and productivity, provides coaching, and conducts employee evaluations. Manage employee timesheets and leave reporting. Coordinates with other teams to ensure consistent service standards. Trains other PSS team members.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Provides direct support to the Clinic Department Administrator in the oversight of daily clinic operations.
  • Supervises PSS in the scheduling of appointments, patient check-in/check-out processes, and the accurate maintenance of patient records.
  • Develops and maintains the PSS staff schedule in alignment with clinic operations and staffing requirements.
  • Coordinates and monitors training programs for front office staff to ensure competency and consistency in service delivery.
  • Works collaboratively with the finance department to process clinic charges, submit insurance claims, and provide timely responses to patient and insurance provider inquiries while ensuring compliance.
  • Conducts verification of third-party insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Prepares and submits administrative reports as requested by leadership.


Occasional Duties

Travel to other Combest clinics to provide support.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an ambulatory clinic.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Experience working with insurance companies.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Experience scheduling referrals.
  • Two (2) years experience in a supervisory role.
