Corporate Tax Staff or Sr. - Primarily Remote!

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Staff - Corporate team member to support tax reporting and compliance activities for an organization in Asheville, North Carolina. This role focuses on preparing corporate income tax filings, assisting with annual tax provision work, and helping maintain accurate records related to direct and indirect tax matters. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to manage recurring deadlines in a structured environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate filings.
• Assist with the annual income tax provision process by gathering data, performing calculations, and documenting key tax positions.
• Support corporate tax compliance activities by maintaining organized workpapers and reconciling tax-related accounts.
• Research tax regulations and apply current guidance to help address corporate tax questions and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to sales and use tax processes, including reviewing transactions, identifying variances, and supporting compliance efforts.
• Partner with internal finance and accounting teams to collect information needed for filings, audits, and tax analysis.
• Help monitor filing calendars and statutory deadlines to reduce risk and maintain compliance across tax obligations.
• Participate in process improvements within the tax function, including updates to reports, documentation, and workflow procedures.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting corporate income tax reporting and compliance activities.• Working knowledge of annual income tax provision concepts and related documentation.
• Familiarity with corporate tax regulations and the preparation of tax returns and workpapers.
• Exposure to sales and use tax processes and indirect tax compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial systems used for tax data analysis and reporting.
Compensation
