Tax Manager - Public

Compensation: $150 to $175 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager - Public to join an accounting team in Massachusetts. This position is suited for a tax leader who can oversee complex compliance work, guide client engagements, and support sound tax planning across a range of entity structures. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced public accounting environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation and review of corporate tax filings and related compliance documents to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Oversee annual income tax provision activities, including analysis, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage sales and use tax processes using CCH Sales Tax tools, resolving issues and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
• Utilize CCH ProSystem Fx to organize tax workflows, review returns, and improve efficiency across engagements.
• Advise clients on entity formation matters, including tax implications, structural considerations, and filing requirements.
• Supervise tax projects from planning through completion, balancing deadlines, resource allocation, and quality standards.
• Research tax matters and provide practical guidance on federal, state, and local requirements affecting business operations.
• Mentor entry-level staff by reviewing work, offering technical direction, and supporting ongoing development.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in public accounting with responsibility for managing tax compliance and client deliverables.
• Strong background in annual income tax provision and corporate tax return preparation and review.
• Proficiency with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax in a tax-focused environment.
• Knowledge of entity formation processes and the related tax treatment for different business structures.
• Ability to interpret tax regulations, identify risks, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Effective leadership skills with experience coordinating staff, priorities, and multiple concurrent engagements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in deadline-driven settings.

Compensation

$150,000.00-$175,000.00 Yearly
