Privacy Attorney/Lawyer
Responsibilities:
• Advise business teams on privacy, data protection, and information governance issues across a broad range of operational and strategic initiatives.
• Interpret and apply U.S. privacy laws and European data protection requirements, including GDPR, to support compliant business practices.
• Provide legal guidance on California privacy considerations when applicable, helping stakeholders address evolving regulatory obligations.
• Draft, review, and refine privacy policies, contractual language, notices, and related documentation to align with legal and business needs.
• Partner extensively with internal stakeholders and periodically support communications or legal matters involving external parties.
• Assess privacy risks in products, services, and business processes, offering practical recommendations that balance compliance and commercial objectives.
• Support legal matters that may involve briefing, discovery coordination, motion-related work, or other attorney-driven documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond to privacy questions, manage sensitive data issues, and strengthen ongoing compliance efforts.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor or equivalent legal degree with experience practicing as an attorney in privacy or data protection law.
• Strong working knowledge of both U.S. privacy regulations and European privacy law, including GDPR.
• Familiarity with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
• Prior experience advising organizations such as and is required.
• Ability to work in a highly client-facing environment, with most interactions focused on internal business partners and some exposure to external parties.
• Background drafting and reviewing legal documents, including policies, briefs, motions, or discovery-related materials.
• Experience in the technology industry is preferred, though candidates from other industries with relevant privacy expertise will be considered.
• Licensed attorney credentials are welcome, and no specific state bar admission is required for this role.
Compensation
