IT Project Manager/Sr. Consultant
Responsibilities:
• Direct several high-impact initiatives at the same time, ensuring business and technology teams remain aligned on priorities, timelines, and outcomes.
• Drive end-to-end project execution through formal governance stages, managing scope, budget, schedules, risks, and final delivery milestones.
• Coordinate parallel workstreams for operations-focused programs, removing obstacles and maintaining momentum across dependent teams.
• Apply Agile and iterative delivery practices to large-scale efforts with demanding deadlines and evolving requirements.
• Monitor resource needs and capacity plans to support efficient staffing and delivery performance across assigned projects.
• Prepare forecasts, estimates, stage gate materials, and milestone plans, including the development of epics and broader delivery roadmaps.
• Support steering committee and portfolio governance activities by organizing project updates, prioritization inputs, and decision-making materials.
• Maintain visibility into cross-project dependencies and partner with leadership to manage impacts across vertical and horizontal teams.
• Contribute to project management standards and mentor other project managers by sharing guidance on planning, scoping, and execution.
• Oversee major system implementation or upgrade efforts when applicable, ensuring controlled delivery and stakeholder readiness.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience; military experience may be considered in place of a degree.• At least 7 years of project management experience with increasing responsibility for complex business and IT initiatives.
• Minimum of 2 years working in a cross-functional Agile environment using iterative delivery methods.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale implementations, upgrades, or other enterprise technology delivery efforts.
• Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, governance disciplines, and structured delivery practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
• Experience using Atlassian Jira is preferred.
• Background in insurance or financial services is preferred, along with PMP certification or comparable project leadership credentials.
