Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries related to routine accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
• Manage prepaid account activity by tracking amortization schedules and recording monthly expense recognition.
• Review accrued liabilities and reserve balances, recording adjustments as needed and maintaining reliable backup for each reporting period.
• Process lease-related monthly entries and reconcile schedules using information generated from the lease tracking system.
• Perform daily reconciliation of sales data feeds, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Compile financial reports and gather accounting data to support month-end close and management reporting needs.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly and follow up on outstanding items to keep balances current and accurate.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in both on-site and remote settings to meet deadlines and maintain reporting consistency.
Qualifications:
• Experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger in a corporate accounting environment.• Strong account reconciliation skills, including the ability to analyze variances and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Hands-on background supporting prepaid expense accounting, accruals, and reserve-related activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, schedule maintenance, and reporting support.
• Ability to manage lease accounting entries and reconciliations based on system-generated outputs.
• Familiarity with Oracle is helpful, though it is not required for consideration.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
