Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Spokane Valley, Washington on a Contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in invoice processing and payment operations who can keep accounts payable activities accurate and on schedule. The position focuses on supporting day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining organized records, and helping ensure vendors are paid correctly and on time.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices, verify supporting details, and prepare them for timely processing.

• Assign appropriate general ledger or account codes to payable transactions to support accurate financial reporting.

• Enter and maintain invoice information in accounting records with a strong attention to accuracy and completeness.

• Coordinate ACH payments and assist with scheduled disbursements in accordance with established payment timelines.

• Support check run preparation by confirming approval status, payment amounts, and vendor information.

• Investigate discrepancies in billing or payment records and work with internal partners or vendors to resolve issues efficiently.

• Maintain organized documentation for invoices, payment batches, and related accounts payable activity.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

• Working knowledge of invoice review, account coding, and high-volume data entry.

• Experience handling electronic payments, including ACH transactions.

• Familiarity with check run processing and standard payment workflows.

• Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues with strong attention to detail.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a Contract position.
