Logistics Coordinator
We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support shipping and transportation activities for a manufacturing operation in Eagan, Minnesota. This Contract position will oversee the coordination of inbound materials and outbound finished products, helping ensure inventory flow, delivery performance, and freight spending remain on track. The role works closely with production, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to keep daily logistics operations organized, accurate, and responsive.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate daily outbound transportation plans by arranging pickups, securing carrier capacity, and aligning shipment timing with production completion and customer delivery needs.
• Manage incoming deliveries of materials, components, and packaging supplies to help maintain production, filling, and kitting schedules without interruption.
• Prepare and review shipping records such as bills of lading, packing documentation, advance shipment notices, invoices, and other carrier-related paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor freight in transit, address delays or delivery issues, and provide timely updates to customer service and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Request transportation pricing, evaluate carrier options based on cost and service, and escalate concerns related to rate changes or limited availability.
• Audit freight billing against agreed pricing and shipment details, resolving discrepancies and identifying avoidable charges when needed.
• Track logistics performance metrics including delivery timeliness, transportation cost trends, dock processing efficiency, and claims activity, then summarize findings for leadership review.
• Support compliance with transportation standards and carrier requirements while promoting safe and efficient shipping practices across office and dock operations.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, shipping and receiving, or supply chain support, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution setting.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong attention to detail in data entry and record accuracy.
• Working knowledge of freight processes, carrier coordination, and standard shipping documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on time-sensitive tasks.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal departments, suppliers, carriers, and customers.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central or work within a regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
