Accounting Assistant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the financial operations and provide administrative support to a construction company in Maryland. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable in performing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with leadership to keep financial processes organized. The right candidate has experience in QuickBooks Desktop experience, a solid understanding of construction payroll practices, and a clear, approachable communication style.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in data entry of accurate financial records for the company using QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring transactions are entered and categorized correctly.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice tracking, payment posting, and vendor coordination.
• Assist in preparing payroll with attention to wage scales and construction-related pay requirements.
• Complete state and local certified payroll reporting in accordance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
• Assist Controller in bookkeeping documentation and support efficient record retention for ongoing business operations.
• Work directly with company leadership to provide timely financial information and assist with routine accounting needs.

Qualifications:
• At least 1 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting support position.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including accurate transaction entry and account maintenance.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing procedures.
• Familiarity with payroll support, preferably in a construction or related project-based environment.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential financial information professionally and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
