Senior Project Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee project-level accounting activities for development and construction initiatives, ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.
• Prepare monthly and periodic financial statements, supporting schedules, and related reports for internal review and decision-making.
• Manage progress billing processes, including documentation, tracking, and coordination of billing packages tied to project milestones.
• Monitor job costs, analyze budget performance, and provide regular forecasting to help project teams stay aligned with financial targets.
• Maintain work-in-progress reporting and evaluate project financial status to identify variances, risks, and trends.
• Partner with project managers and internal stakeholders to review contract values, committed costs, cash flow expectations, and overall project performance.
• Support the administration of construction accounting documentation and ensure records are organized in accordance with project and compliance requirements.
• Utilize accounting and project management systems, including Excel and other relevant platforms, to improve reporting accuracy and operational visibility.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, with strong preference for project or construction accounting background.• Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements, billing documentation, and supporting accounting schedules.
• Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and financial forecasting in a project-based environment.
• Working knowledge of work-in-progress reporting and construction cost management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Familiarity with progress billing processes and related industry documentation.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and Procore is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an in-office setting.
Compensation
