Web Content Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Hybrid Schedule)

Our client is seeking a Web Content Specialist to join their team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented content professional who combines strong writing and editing skills with hands-on experience managing website content in WordPress.

The selected candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain, update, and optimize website content while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards. Due to the immediate need, the client is looking to onboard someone as quickly as possible to allow for knowledge transfer and training overlap with the current team member.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, proofread, and publish website content.
• Ensure all content follows AP Style and organizational content standards.
• Manage website updates and content maintenance within WordPress CMS.
• Upload and format web pages, images, and other digital assets.
• Use Adobe Photoshop for basic image editing, cropping, resizing, and optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure website content is accurate, current, and user-friendly.
• Monitor content quality and consistency across the website.
• Support ongoing website improvements and content enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Professional experience in web content management, digital content publishing, or related roles.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with expertise in AP Style.
• Advanced experience working within WordPress CMS.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, including image cropping and basic editing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
