Function of Position:

The Fieldwork Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of student fieldwork placements for Education and Human Services Department programs, including Alcohol and Chemical Dependency, Childcare Practitioner, Education Studies at the Adolescent, Childhood, and Early Childhood levels, Hospital and Community Mental Health Technician, and Human Services. Key duties include assessing student placement needs, establishing and monitoring placements, evaluating sites, and maintaining strong partnerships with agencies, schools, and transfer institutions to support fieldwork requirements. The position ensures compliance through the development and management of affiliation agreements, evaluations, timesheets, and the maintenance of accurate records using systems such as Argos, Dynamic Forms, Microsoft Access, and Excel. The coordinator contributes to grant implementation processes, participates in recruitment activities, supports departmental operations and meetings, and exercises strong independent judgment, time management, and collaboration skills while adhering to institutional policies and performing other duties as assigned.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the placement processes and related requirements for Addictions, Early Care, Education, Hospital and Community Mental Health Technician, and Human Services programs, including establishing placements, monitoring progress, and assessing placement sites.
  • Conduct student meetings to assess placement needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with agencies and schools to support student placements.
  • Communicate with partner schools on fieldwork requirements for transfer programs.
  • Develop and manage compliant affiliation agreements with placement sites, in conjunction with the Controller's Office.
  • Monitor fieldwork course enrollment, collect data, and maintain accurate records using Argos, Dynamic Forms, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Manage department, student, faculty, and placement site communications related to fieldwork, including welcome emails, forms, reminders, and mid-term and final placement evaluations.
  • Organize, store, and maintain all student documentation and records related to fieldwork.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and implementation of grant projects.
  • Participate in department recruitment events.
  • Work independently and in a team setting, demonstrating excellent time management skills to prioritize workflow and multitask.
  • Attend department meetings as a contributing member.
  • Adhere to all College and departmental policies.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chair.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Human Services, Public Administration, or related area.
  • Experience in team collaboration, program planning, and coordination.
  • A high level of written, verbal, and computer skills.
  • Evidence of leadership capabilities and commitment to continued professional growth
  • Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Evidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education, Human Services, Public Administration or related area.
  • Experience with internships, academic field placement, and/or service learning.
  • At least two years' experience in a community college environment.
  • Experience with New York State Teacher Certification or CASAC Certification process.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.


Additional Information:

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $52,000 to $55,000 and is based on the mentioned factors above.

Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.
