Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
As our OT-GIS & WMS Analyst I, you'll help maintain the digital foundation of our electric and fiber networks. You'll work with GIS data, mapping systems, automation tools, reporting platforms, and engineering teams to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
Build and Maintain Critical GIS Systems
- Update and maintain GIS land base, utility assets, and connectivity models.
- Ensure data accuracy and support system-wide data integrity initiatives.
- Validate information across multiple business systems.
Solve Technical Challenges
- Troubleshoot GIS and WMS applications.
- Investigate system issues and coordinate solutions with vendors.
- Monitor jobs, processes, and application performance.
Create Maps, Dashboards & Insights
- Design web maps, dashboards, and reports that support operational decisions.
- Provide drafting, plotting, and digitizing services.
- Support engineering and business teams with actionable data.
Work With Exciting Spatial Technologies
- Integrate GPS, CAD, LiDAR, satellite, and drone data into GIS platforms.
- Collaborate with field engineers to ensure accurate system representation.
Partner With Engineering Experts
- Help develop clear electrical system symbology.
- Contribute to software upgrades, testing, and continuous improvement projects.
Leverage Data and Automation
- Develop SQL queries for reporting, validation, and analysis.
- Support data exports, integrations, and process improvements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree in GIS/Geospatial Science, or related field; OR equivalent utility work experience.
Minimum one year experience with GIS.
SKILLS:
Strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently.
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to translate field notes into accurate drawings with correct electrical connectivity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and Copilot prompting.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose application failures and resolve plotting/system issues.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide a customer-focused approach to problem resolution.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree in GIS/Geospatial Science, or related field.
Working experience in electric distribution and fiber network topology/connectivity.
Knowledge of ESRI and Schneider Electric ArcFM solutions; FME; Python programming; CAD (MicroStation/AutoCAD); Power BI, and relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server).
Familiarity with NISC iVUE.
