Position Summary:
The Purchaser / Subcontract Administrator is responsible for purchasing and subcontract administration across multiple government contracts as well as corporate procurement activities. This role supports both flight hardware procurement and indirect corporate purchasing and manages the full lifecycle of subcontracts in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and internal Procurement policies. The position works cross-functionally with Program Management, Contracts, Finance, Engineering, and Quality to ensure compliant, timely, and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services.

Primary Responsibilities – Purchasing:
  • Perform purchasing for government and commercial contracts—including flight hardware—and corporate indirect requirements.
  • Evaluate requirements, determine procurement method, identify qualified vendors, solicit bids, and select suppliers based on defined criteria.
  • Facilitate execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with suppliers as needed to support procurement activities.
  • Issue purchase orders in compliance with Procurement policies and approved purchasing system standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance, provide order status updates, and resolve delinquency issues.
  • Maintain approved vendor list and update vendor certifications
  • Work with vendors to expedite orders when necessary.
  • Maintain required procurement records to support DCMA compliant purchasing system requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and reviews.
  • Analyze procurement metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with contract and subcontract administration activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities – Subcontract Administration:
  • Manage the full subcontract lifecycle from proposal support through subcontract closeout.
  • Administer various subcontract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Materials (T&M), Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), and Cost‑Reimbursable.
  • Ensure subcontract actions and files comply with FAR, DFARS, company policies, and prime contract requirements.
  • Perform cost and price analyses to ensure proposed costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable under FAR Part 15.
  • Review prime solicitations, draft subcontract documentation, issue RFPs to suppliers, and evaluate supplier bids.
  • Provide enterprise-wide NDA support, including drafting, coordinating, and executing NDAs with suppliers, partners, consultants, and other external entities to enable proposal development, proprietary data exchange, and internal collaboration.
  • Support proposal and capture teams with subcontract estimates and supplier documentation.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Contracts, and Finance to ensure compliance and financial accuracy.
  • Ensure all mandatory flow-down clauses and regulatory requirements are included in subcontract agreements.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field required (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 to 8+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or subcontract/contract administration experience.
  • Experience working in the aerospace, defense, commercial, or government contracting industry strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, government contracting principles, and flow-down requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and subcontract compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
  • Expected salary range is $70,000-$80,000 annually. Final compensation is based on education, experience, and directly relevant qualifications
