Position Overview - Spoerr PreCast Structures Division - CDL Class B Truck Driver

Driver Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting precast concrete products to job sites while ensuring timely and safe delivery. Must be able to operate manual transmissions. Hours are 7 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, so you will be home every night. Must be willing to be crane certified. Will also work in the shop when not on a delivery.

Duties:

1. Safely operate delivery vehicle with an ABC crane
2. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
3. Load and unload precast concrete septic tanks or other items being delivered
4. Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
5. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance
6. Handle any issues that arise during transit, ensuring customer satisfaction

Requirements:

1. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL with B endorsement)
2. Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role
3. Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles required
4. Ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively
5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
6. Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently
7. Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policies

Responsibilities:

1. Produce high quality precast concrete in accordance with specifications
2. Stripping and setting up concrete forms
3. Reading shop drawings and/or prints
4. Maintain clean and safe work area
5. Ability to operate an overhead crane
6. Complete daily preventative maintenance tasks as assigned, including tool maintenance
7. Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Education/Experience:

1. Knowledge of concrete forming
2. Ability to read shop drawings and/or blueprints
3. High School diploma or equivalent
4. Heavy equipment certifications such forklift and bridge cranes, not required but a plus

Physical Strain:

1. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs on occasion
2. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
3. Must be able to squat, crawl and kneel to complete tasks
4. Must be able to climb on and off the truck
