Accounting Specialist- PERMANENT FULL TIME


Location: Newington, CT

Compensation: $65,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience


Robert Half is partnering with a local manufacturing company in Newington, CT seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their team. This is a hands-on role responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, and month-end support. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions
  • Prepare customer invoices and manage billing activities
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations- account reconciliations can be very complex based on the nature of their business
  • Assist with month-end closing and general ledger support
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Generate reports and assist with financial analysis as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting and office teams
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in general accounting (including AP, AR, and billing)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus, but not required
