HR Specialist

Richmond, VA 23238, US Remote Contract
Compensation: $28 to $32 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced HR specialist to join an automotive organization in Richmond, Virginia in a contract and fully remote capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This role supports employees and leaders by handling HR inquiries, resolving workplace matters, and helping deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience. The position begins with core case management and operational HR support, with the opportunity to take on broader ownership as team needs evolve and performance demonstrates readiness for expanded scope.


Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, workplace concerns, and day-to-day employee relations matters while ensuring a high standard of service.

• Handle HR cases from intake through resolution, applying sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality, and documenting outcomes accurately.

• Partner with teams such as legal, payroll, technology, and other HR functions to address complex issues and support compliant practices.

• Contribute to process improvements that strengthen service delivery, increase consistency, and support a scalable HR support model.

• Create and update training resources, reference materials, and tools that improve understanding of HR programs and procedures.

• Monitor case trends and prepare reports that highlight patterns, service needs, and opportunities for operational improvement.

• Support onboarding and other employee lifecycle activities through effective use of HR systems and organized follow-through.

• Maintain productive relationships with external vendors and help track service quality, responsiveness, and accountability.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of HR experience with demonstrated strength in employee support, policy interpretation, and customer service.
• Background in HR administration, onboarding, employee relations, and HR information systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at multiple levels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while exercising good judgment and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Experience using HR technology such as Workday, Salesforce for case management, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with regulated or highly confidential environments, including careful handling of sensitive employee information.

Compensation

$28.00-$32.00 Hourly
