Systems Administrator (Hybrid)
Position Overview
We're looking for a Systems Administrator to join a collaborative IT team responsible for supporting and modernizing a hybrid Microsoft infrastructure. This role combines day-to-day systems administration with infrastructure projects, cloud migration initiatives, and Tier 3 support. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, improving system reliability, and helping drive a cloud-first strategy.
Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), hybrid identity, and user access.
- Support Windows server infrastructure in both physical and virtual environments.
- Maintain VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- Assist with the migration of on-premises infrastructure and workloads to Microsoft Azure.
- Configure and support Microsoft Teams Phone, including call routing and policies.
- Manage networking infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Implement security best practices including MFA, Conditional Access, and identity management.
- Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Provide occasional support for Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues while mentoring junior IT staff.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of systems administration experience.
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid environments.
- Hands-on VMware and/or Hyper-V administration.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience participating in cloud migration projects.
- Strong networking fundamentals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred
- Microsoft Azure administration.
- Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- PowerShell scripting.
- Power Automate or Power Apps.
- Microsoft Teams Phone administration.
- Experience leading infrastructure modernization projects.

Compensation
