Senior Legal Counsel

We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team in Houston, Texas. This position is well suited for an experienced attorney who can oversee a wide range of commercial legal matters independently while partnering with business leaders on higher-level corporate and regulatory issues. The role calls for strong judgment, practical risk assessment, and the ability to provide clear legal guidance that supports operational goals.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation, review, and negotiation of diverse commercial agreements, including service, procurement, technology, consulting, and construction-related contracts.
• Advise internal teams on legal terms and business exposure involving indemnification, insurance obligations, dispute provisions, and overall contract interpretation.
• Create, refine, and manage contract templates and legal playbooks to improve consistency and efficiency across contracting processes.
• Support the handling of claims, disputes, and matters that may lead to litigation, while partnering with external counsel when formal legal proceedings arise.
• Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries and contribute to internal reviews related to compliance or fact-finding matters.
• Work closely with land and operations teams to assess real estate and land use documents such as easements, rights-of-way, and surface access agreements.
• Help address and resolve disputes involving landowners and property-related business interests.
• Coordinate with outside intellectual property counsel on matters involving patents, trademarks, and copyright protection as needed.
• Collaborate with senior legal leadership on complex legal, regulatory, and corporate initiatives that affect the broader business.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law and membership in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction.
• At least 7 years of legal experience, ideally combining law firm training with in-house counsel responsibilities.
• Demonstrated success drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across multiple agreement types.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial risk assessment, and practical business operations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Industry experience in energy, infrastructure, environmental, industrial, oilfield services, water midstream, or similar sectors is preferred.

Compensation

$200,000.00-$250,000.00 Yearly
