Litigation Paralegal
Boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support active civil litigation matters with remote work flexibility. This Litigation Paralegal will contribute to document-intensive cases through the full litigation lifecycle including drafting documents, discovery management, and preparing materials for hearings and trial. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. Experience supporting appellate matters at the state level is valued, though it is not required. This position can be 100% remote or on-site, depending on your preferences. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of California-based civil litigation experience in a paralegal support capacity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage case files, maintain organized matter documentation, and track deadlines across multiple civil litigation matters.
• Review, analyze, and categorize large volumes of documents to support discovery responses, case strategy, and trial readiness.
• Prepare exhibits, witness materials, hearing binders, and other case-related documents for depositions, hearings, and trial proceedings.
• Draft, format, and finalize legal documents such as pleadings, subpoenas, discovery materials, and correspondence for attorney review.
• Coordinate court filings and service of process while ensuring compliance with applicable procedural rules and deadlines.
• Utilize case management software to monitor activity, update matter status, and maintain accurate litigation records.
• Assist attorneys with factual research, chronology development, and compilation of supporting materials for case preparation.
• Provide additional support on appellate filings and record organization for state-level appeals when needed.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of paralegal experience supporting litigation matters, including substantial exposure to California-based civil litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle discovery-related tasks, including document review and preparation of supporting case materials.
• Hands-on experience assisting with trial preparation in a law firm or legal department environment.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and coordinating court filings with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of case management software and the ability to keep litigation files organized and current.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• State appellate experience is a plus, but not a mandatory qualification.
