Staff Accountant
Our client in the Farmington, Connecticut area is seeking a Staff Accountant for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is looking for an opportunity to grow into a long-term position with a stable organization.
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, help maintain accurate financial records, and assist with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid general ledger experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and related reconciliations
- Help prepare financial reports and account analysis
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Assist with audit support and other ad hoc accounting projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Compensation
