Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a team in Nashua, New Hampshire on a Contract basis. This position focuses on supporting day-to-day accounting activities through careful payment processing, billing coordination, and accurate financial documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in accounts payable and reconciliation, along with the ability to keep records organized and resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including reviewing invoices, organizing payment schedules, and supporting weekly check disbursements.
• Process customer billing activities and apply incoming payments with accuracy across multiple payment methods, including credit cards.
• Prepare checks for vendors and other approved expenditures while ensuring supporting documentation is complete and properly recorded.
• Reconcile vendor account statements on a regular basis and investigate payment or invoice differences to achieve timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate financial records to support daily accounting operations and ensure transactions are entered consistently.
• Coordinate with internal and external contacts to address payment questions, billing concerns, and account discrepancies.
• Assist with general accounting tasks as needed to help keep workflows organized and deadlines on track.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in accounting support roles, with substantial exposure to accounts payable and billing activities.
• Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts and research discrepancies with a high level of accuracy.
• Hands-on experience processing invoices, vendor payments, and customer remittances.
• Strong understanding of core accounting functions and financial recordkeeping practices.
• Proficiency in managing multiple priorities while meeting recurring weekly and daily deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
• High attention to detail and a dependable approach to handling sensitive financial information.

Compensation

$25.00-$28.00 Hourly
