Payroll Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll tax administration for a distributed employee population across the United States in Columbus, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position focuses on maintaining accurate payroll tax records, applying correct tax codes, and helping ensure timely and compliant payroll processing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in Rippling, handles payroll-related questions with professionalism, and brings a strong customer service mindset to daily operations.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update payroll tax codes to reflect current requirements for employees working in multiple U.S. jurisdictions.
• Review payroll records for accuracy and help ensure proper tax treatment based on employee work and residence locations.
• Use Rippling to process payroll-related updates, monitor tax data, and support routine payroll activities.
• Investigate payroll tax discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner to reduce processing errors.
• Respond to employee payroll questions clearly and professionally, providing strong customer support throughout the payroll cycle.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to help keep payroll information current, organized, and compliant with applicable tax rules.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and record maintenance related to payroll tax documentation and employee payroll data.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting payroll for an organization with approximately 101 to 500 employees.
• Working knowledge of payroll tax principles, including multi-state payroll considerations.
• Hands-on experience using Rippling for payroll administration or related payroll functions.
• Ability to update and validate payroll tax codes with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and communication skills when addressing employee payroll inquiries.
• Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and maintain accurate payroll records.

Compensation

$28.00-$33.50 Hourly
