Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a growing organization in Queens, New York. This role is well suited for someone with hands-on payroll experience who can manage employee pay activity with precision, maintain compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and work effectively in a hybrid environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in payroll administration, sound attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams while handling confidential information responsibly.
Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end payroll for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees, ensuring pay is issued accurately and on schedule.
• Administer payroll activities across multiple states while following applicable wage, tax, and reporting requirements.
• Review timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Maintain employee payroll records and update changes related to compensation, withholdings, direct deposit, and other pay-related data.
• Use payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms to support routine payroll processing and reporting needs.
• Partner with human resources, finance, and management to address payroll questions, research issues, and provide clear resolutions.
• Prepare payroll-related reports and support audits or reconciliations by ensuring documentation is complete and organized.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts within payroll operations while helping maintain compliance and internal accuracy standards.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of practical payroll processing experience is required.• An associate degree or higher is required.
• Experience handling full-cycle payroll is required.
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll administration is required.
• Experience using payroll software is required; ADP Workforce Now is preferred but similar systems are acceptable.
• Ability to manage payroll for an employee population ranging from 101 to 500 workers is preferred.
• Knowledge of union payroll, payroll certification, or accounting principles would be an advantage.
Compensation
