Tax Analyst/Manager/Director

Dallas, TX 75247, US Full Time

We are looking for a detail-oriented tax specialist to support corporate indirect tax operations for a high-tech electronics organization in Dallas, Texas. This role will oversee key areas of state and local taxation, with a strong emphasis on sales and use tax compliance, property tax matters, and practical tax research. The position also partners with internal stakeholders and external advisors to address regulatory matters, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support the transition of tax activities into the internal department.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the preparation, review, and timely submission of sales and use tax filings across applicable jurisdictions.
• Oversee state and local indirect tax activities, including property tax compliance and related account analysis.
• Conduct technical tax research and interpret regulatory developments to help maintain compliance with changing rules.
• Reconcile tax accounts, investigate variances, and help improve the accuracy of monthly tax reporting.
• Coordinate responses to notices, audits, and information requests from tax authorities and outside parties.
• Advise cross-functional teams on sales tax treatment, reporting questions, and day-to-day indirect tax matters.
• Support tax provision activities by gathering data, analyzing positions, and assisting with documentation needs.
• Contribute to bringing tax processes back in-house by helping organize responsibilities, documentation, and workflow execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in corporate tax, with strong exposure to sales and use tax, state and local tax, and property tax.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review sales tax returns with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience supporting tax audits or responding to inquiries from government agencies is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax-related software tools.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills in a compliance-focused environment.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work across internal teams and external advisors.
• CPA or a comparable certification is preferred.
