Medical Records Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed evaluations of medical records to confirm documentation accuracy, validate coding-related determinations, and flag cases that need escalation for secondary review.
• Complete assigned work within daily production targets while maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency across each review.
• Safeguard protected health information by following HIPAA guidelines, company procedures, and data privacy expectations in all tasks.
• Use Microsoft Office and other Windows-based tools to manage daily assignments, move across multiple platforms, and adapt to new applications as needed.
• Take part in team meetings, required training sessions, and other learning activities to stay aligned with current standards and expectations.
• Apply established quality practices consistently and remain current on policy updates, workflow changes, and review guidelines.
• Support operational efficiency by helping address review queues and contributing to timely completion of backlog-related work.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.• At least 1 year of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience reviewing medical records and interpreting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Background working in a productivity-driven setting with the ability to manage deadlines and output expectations.
• Ability to learn multiple work types and accurately apply different levels of action within each process.
• Experience working effectively in a remote or virtual environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of intermediate proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office applications, along with the ability to learn new software quickly.
Compensation
