Billing Specialist

Edgewood, MD 21040, US Full Time
Compensation: $60 to $70 Yearly

Robert Half has a new direct-hire opportunity for a Billing Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction project billing, ensuring accurate invoicing, contract compliance, and timely payment collection. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction accounting practices, and the ability to work closely with project managers, accounting staff, and clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process customer invoices for construction projects.
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Generate progress billings, AIA billings, time and material billings, and other contract-specific invoices.
  • Track project costs, retainage, and payment schedules.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve client inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate project billing records and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure billings reflect project progress.
  • Assist with month-end closing, revenue reporting, and financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and contractual billing requirements.



Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years billing and invoicing experience, ideally in a construction accounting experience.
  • Experience with AIA billing and progress billing preferred.
  • Knowledge of retainage, change orders, and construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, Viewpoint Vista, Procore, or QuickBooks.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.



Compensation

$60,000.00-$70,000.00 Yearly
