HR Specialist
We are looking for an independent HR support professional to provide hands-on assistance for a growing multi-location operation. This role will focus heavily on HR operations, employee record management, payroll platform migration support, and process streamlining as the organization scales. This is a fully remote contract based in Florida.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day HR administrative activities for a multi-location fitness business and provide dependable support across core people operations.
• Coordinate the transition of payroll activities for Florida locations into Paylocity and help ensure records and workflows are aligned within the system.
• Review, organize, and upload employee onboarding and personnel documents into Paylocity to maintain complete and accurate digital files.
• Maintain employee information for an active workforce of approximately 120 team members, ensuring changes are recorded promptly and correctly.
• Generate employee and system-related reports as requested to support operational decisions and workforce tracking.
• Assist with benefits classification updates and monitor employee status details to keep HR records current.
• Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficient procedures, then recommend and implement more effective HR workflows.
• Work independently in a lean HR environment, balancing multiple priorities while delivering accurate and timely support.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in HR administration, employee records management, and operational support.
• Strong hands-on experience using Paylocity required, including employee data maintenance and document management.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms and the ability to navigate system-based reporting and recordkeeping tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling confidential employee information.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to improve processes and maintain structured documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working across teams and responding to HR-related needs.
Compensation
