Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure deadlines are met accurately.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity and verifying that transactions are properly classified.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support and a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies until they are fully resolved.
• Complete bank account reconciliations on a regular basis and follow up on outstanding items as needed.
• Analyze financial data to identify variances, unusual activity, and areas requiring correction or additional review.
• Support reporting needs by organizing accounting records and providing documentation for internal stakeholders.
• Assist with process improvements and accounting-related changes in systems or workflows when applicable.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to ensure accounting information reflects current business activity.
Qualifications:
• Strong experience managing month-end close activities in an accounting environment with close attention to detail.• Solid understanding of general ledger structure, account analysis, and financial record maintenance.
• Proven ability to prepare accurate journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and resolving reconciling differences.
• Background completing bank reconciliations with close attention to detail.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience in construction, contractor, or project-based business environments is preferred.
