AP Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounts payable functions, processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation
• Assist with month-end close by preparing AP accruals and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures
• Support 1099 preparation and year-end reporting activities as needed
• Assist with expense report processing and employee reimbursements
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
• Experience with invoice processing, three-way matching, and vendor management
• Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume AP environment
• Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements
• Experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP platforms
• Prior contract or interim accounting support experience
