Accounts Receivable Clerk
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to support the finance team with billing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and collections activities. This role is responsible for helping maintain accurate financial records, monitoring outstanding invoices, and ensuring timely receipt of customer payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
- Post incoming payments by check, ACH, wire, and credit card
- Apply payments to customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances
- Communicate with customers regarding billing questions and payment status
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate balances
- Research and resolve invoice, cash application, and account issues
- Maintain customer account records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end closing activities and AR reporting
- Support internal controls and compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with customer service, sales, and accounting teams to resolve account matters
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or general accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and receivables processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
Preferred Skills
- Experience with invoicing and cash applications
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks
- Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills
- Customer service mindset with professionalism in collections follow-up
Work Environment
- Office or hybrid environment depending on business needs
- May require frequent communication with internal departments and external customers
Compensation
