Staff Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure accurate financial reporting. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end close, and supporting financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subledgers
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare account analyses and support financial statement reporting
- Review and analyze financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for audits and internal review
- Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial reporting
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and improve processes
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environment is a plus
Work Environment
- Office or hybrid setting depending on company needs
- May require extended hours during month-end or year-end close
Compensation
