PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Lead recruitment efforts and enhance the employee experience through engagement and retention initiatives. Partner with employees and managers to support workplace culture, performance management, employee relations, and other people-related initiatives while promoting alignment with Central One’s values and strategic priorities.


Schedule: Generally, Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM and after-hours events as business needs dictate. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with 3-4 days a week on-site required. Must be willing to travel to our other locations as needed.


Pay Range: $68,000 - $88,000 per year commensurate with experience


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  2. Lead recruiting efforts by partnering with hiring managers, coordinating job postings and recruitment marketing, recommending recruiting strategies, screening applicants, coordinating the interview and selection process, and overseeing the employee mentor program.
  3. Partner with leaders throughout the performance management process by coaching effective performance conversations and supporting goal setting, identifying performance trends or inconsistencies, and escalating concerns to the Chief People & Culture Officer to support a fair, consistent, and high-performing culture.
  4. Partner with leaders to apply Working Genius and other team effectiveness tools to strengthen collaboration, employee engagement, onboarding, and overall team effectiveness.
  5. Support the culture survey action planning process, including communication efforts, coordination of initiatives, and progress tracking.
  6. Partner with employees and managers to resolve workplace concerns by providing guidance, conducting employee meetings and workplace investigations as appropriate, documenting findings, and escalating complex or high-risk matters to the Chief People & Culture Officer.
  7. Conduct non-management exit interviews, identify trends, and provide recommendations to enhance employee retention and engagement.
  8. Participate in the planning and execution of employee events coordinated by the F!SH Committee, including budget tracking and reporting.
  9. Facilitate training sessions and workshops on select HR topics.
  10. Actively participate in employee engagement, recognition, appreciation, and community volunteer activities, and coordinate employee retirement celebrations.
  11. Monitor employee morale and engagement trends and provide recommendations to enhance workplace culture and employee experience.
  12. Support compensation administration by coordinating salary surveys, gathering market compensation data, and assisting with compensation-related activities and projects.
  13. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  14. Stay current on HR trends, employment practices, leadership development, and workplace culture initiatives through ongoing professional development.
  15. Works cooperatively with other departments, ensuring timely resolution of problems and/or completion of projects.
  16. Stay current on job-related equipment, procedures and/or information by reading handouts/memos, attending meetings and seminars and other necessary means.
  17. Adhere to all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.
  18. Maintain community involvement and participate in special projects, as needed.
  19. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.


Education: A bachelor’s degree plus professional certification

Experience: 5-8 years of experience in human resources, with demonstrated experience in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and/or employee engagement.

Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across the organization. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, along with the ability to learn and effectively utilize HR systems, technology platforms, and digital tools. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong understanding of human resources principles, practices, and employment-related processes.
