Job Summary

Supports Logistics Department in all aspects of logistics functions including monitors inbound/outboard logistics, import / export operations, and customs compliance with respect to procurement and the supply chain.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor day-to-day import and export operations including daily communication with third-party logistics providers (3 PLs), freight companies, customs brokers, courier companies, and freight forwarders.
  • Monitor C-TPAT compliance including monitoring of requirements and auditing.
  • Responsible for maintaining the import/export product master database.
  • Create Customs documents.
  • Track, trace, and expedite inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Help support Customer Service Department with reroutes, quotes, and updates for outbound shipments and help to coordinate returns.
  • Provides problem-solving around issues with regards to freight companies, 3 PLs, and suppliers.
  • Create Customs documents and Bill of Landings.
  • File and maintain freight claims.
  • Maintain daily booking requests.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Degree in logistics/transportation or related area discipline preferred.
  • 2 years logistics/transportation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite programs and advanced skills with Excel
  • Proven ability to problem solves.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in customs compliance, international transportation, operations, and airfreight preferred.
  • C-TPAT experience preferred.
  • Creating Customs and/or Transportation documents.
  • NAFTA experience and documentation
  • Purchasing transportation experience.
  • JDE and/or Trax Order Management.
