Overview
The qualified applicant will be expected to assemble components and perform all primary and secondary operations associated with the assembly operation. At a minimum, the technician will be able to follow an assembly manual without supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assembly of components and or complete assemblies either bolted or structural bonded.
- Fully trained and signed off as a qualified operator for all assembly processes associated with the assembly department. (e.g. Torqueing, Lock Wiring, Structural Bonding and Measuring.)
- Able to produce assembled units at the established production rates, not exceed expected scrap rates and inspect / verify that all assembled parts meet all quality requirements.
- Follow all work instructions as trained; including but not limited to Assembly manuals, Work Orders (routers), Supplemental Quality Inspections, General Workmanship Standards, etc.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
- A positive “can do” attitude.
- Ability to work well with others in a team oriented atmosphere.
- Flexible with respect to job re-assignments.
- Possess the desire to learn additional job functions within the department. (e.g. Assembly; Part prep – masking, blasting, bonding; Final Assembly and Pack-out; Other miscellaneous duties as needed.
- Must be able to read and write English and pass a basic math test.
- Ability to read part prints/drawings is a plus.
- Must have basic MS Office computer skills and be knowledgeable with Excel and E-mail.
- Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required.
- Higher education in a technical field preferred.
- Previous experience with aerospace assembly preferred.
