Position Description

Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions

Operational oversight, clinical leadership and patient advocate.

Occasional Duties

  • Staff management- Hiring, training, mentoring and performing evaluations for clinical staff (Patient Services Staff).
  • Operational oversight- managing the day to day operations, optimizing patient flow, and implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Quality and compliance - ensuring adherence to regulatory standards (state, federal) to include HIPAA compliance.
  • Financial compliance - managing departmental budgets, monitoring expenses and controlling costs.
  • Clinical workflow - Enhance optimization of clinical workflow, scheduling.
Registration - Enhance/streamline process for optimal patient registration, managing clinical schedules for providers/residents.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Prior experience managing clinical office
