Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world’s toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

Leidos plays a prime systems integrator role in the SEA1770 project. We deliver Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA) capabilities to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

The project aims to provide deployable systems that can quickly collect, process, and disseminate maritime environmental data. This data is critical for safe naval operations in unfamiliar or remote waters, supporting missions such as amphibious landings and disaster response.

Reporting to the Site Lead and working closely with a small, collaborative team, this role offers genuine end-to-end ownership of logistics and warehouse operations supporting critical Defence capability. You'll be based onsite at HMAS Waterhen, working directly with Defence personnel and managing the movement, storage and distribution of parts and equipment across the SEA1770 program.

This position will:

  • Manage the receipt, inspection and storage of incoming parts, materials and equipment, ensuring all items are accurately recorded and maintained within warehouse inventory systems.
  • Coordinate the issuing, receipting and movement of stock, maintaining accurate asset accountability and inventory records in accordance with Defence and Leidos requirements.
  • Liaise directly with Defence stakeholders to fulfil requests for parts, equipment and logistics support, delivering responsive customer service in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Coordinate shipping, repair and calibration activities with external suppliers, managing the end-to-end movement of equipment to support system availability.
  • Conduct stocktakes and inventory reconciliation activities, helping maintain a well-organised warehouse and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate logistics documentation and records using SAP ERP and other business systems to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Support warehousing operations including stock handling, storage, distribution and transportation activities, while ensuring equipment is cared for and preserved correctly while in storage.
  • Contribute to a flexible, team-oriented culture, working collaboratively with colleagues and customers to ensure operational priorities are met.

What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

This role suits someone starting their logistics career or bringing transferable skills to make a career change.

  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, supply chain or inventory management environments, including receiving, issuing, stock control and record keeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate inventory, documentation and asset management records.
  • Confidence working directly with customers and stakeholders, with the ability to build positive relationships and respond professionally to requests.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to go above and beyond to support a small team and deliver exceptional service.
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on warehouse activities with computer-based administration and logistics reporting.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, MILIS or similar inventory management platforms is highly regarded.
  • Forklift experience or a current forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and develop broad logistics expertise across warehousing, inventory control, supplier coordination and Defence support operations.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance.

Don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes – if you meet most of them, we encourage you to submit your application. We’re most interested in your strengths, what you want to learn and how far you want to go.
