A well-established, growing organization is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and elevate safety across its transportation, field operations, and office environments. This is a newly created position designed for a hands-on safety professional who is excited by the opportunity to build programs, strengthen processes, and create a proactive, company-wide safety culture.
Reporting directly to leadership, this highly visible role will partner closely with operations to drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, and develop practical safety solutions that support employees across eight Minnesota locations.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop company-wide safety programs across transportation, field, and operational environments.
- Partner with operations leadership to build and strengthen a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage workers' compensation processes while supporting injury prevention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Review, update, and develop safety policies, procedures, manuals, and documentation.
- Create and deliver engaging safety training and onboarding programs.
- Conduct facility audits, field observations, driver ride-alongs, and operational safety inspections.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend improvements based on trends and data.
- Develop emergency response procedures, spill response plans, and business continuity initiatives.
- Lead safety committee meetings and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Partner with HR and operations leaders to identify risks, improve accountability, and support employee development.
- Utilize fleet technology and telematics to identify coaching opportunities and improve driver safety.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Safety, EHS, Environmental Health & Safety, Compliance, Risk Management, Transportation Safety, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience building, improving, or leading safety programs.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- Experience supporting DOT compliance, fleet safety, transportation operations, or field-based workforces.
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable working independently while partnering cross-functionally across multiple departments.
- Willingness to travel locally throughout Central Minnesota to support multiple operational locations.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly valued:
- Transportation or logistics
- Fleet operations
- Petroleum, propane, or fuel distribution
- Manufacturing
- Distribution or warehousing
- Agriculture or agribusiness
- Utilities or industrial operations
- Chemical or hazardous materials environments
Technology
Experience with fleet management systems, electronic logging devices (ELDs), telematics, driver safety monitoring, or similar safety technologies is preferred.
Travel
- Local travel to approximately eight Minnesota locations.
- Regular field visits, audits, inspections, and driver ride-alongs.
- Limited overnight travel.

Compensation
