Procurement Specialist

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist for a client of ours located in Lee's Summit, Missouri on a Contract basis. This short-term opportunity is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, support day-to-day purchasing activity, and help keep procurement operations organized and efficient. The role is expected to run for approximately 30 to 60 days and prefer familiarity with Workday and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities:

• Manage purchasing activities by creating, reviewing, and processing purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.

• Support daily procurement operations by coordinating requests, tracking order status, and helping ensure materials and services are obtained efficiently.

• Work within established buying procedures to maintain compliance with company procurement standards and documentation practices.

• Use Workday and Microsoft Office tools to maintain records, prepare reports, and monitor purchasing activity.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve order issues, clarify requirements, and keep procurement tasks moving forward.

• Assist with contract-related purchasing activities, including reviewing terms and supporting negotiation preparation when needed.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related supply chain support role.
• Hands-on experience creating and managing purchase orders within a corporate environment.
• Working knowledge of procurement processes, buying practices, and general sourcing support activities.
• Proficiency with Workday and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to handle a high volume of tasks with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with internal teams and external vendors.
