Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff/Sr. Staff Accountant to join a growing financial services organization in Fort Worth, Texas on a contract to permanent basis. This opportunity is well suited for a degreed accountant who enjoys strengthening core financial processes, managing account reconciliations, supporting accurate reporting, and collaborating closely with accounting leadership. The role will focus on day-to-day accounting activities while helping improve procedures that support a stable and efficient close process.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

• Reconcile balance sheet and other assigned accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.

• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, verifying account classifications, and supporting data accuracy.

• Assist with month-end close activities, including account analysis, accruals, and supporting schedules.

• Partner with accounting leadership to refine and document accounting workflows and internal procedures.

• Support the transition of select accounting activities into the local team and help establish consistent operating practices.

• Contribute to accounting system-related updates tied to process improvements and ongoing operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Experience performing journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations in an accounting environment that requires attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of month-end close procedures and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to identify variances, investigate issues, and resolve accounting discrepancies with accuracy.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reconciliations and reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-changing environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with accounting leadership and cross-functional partners.

Compensation

$35.15-$39.60 Hourly
