Medical Billing Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Process Medicaid billing activities and prepare claims for timely and accurate submission.
• Review client accounts to identify discrepancies, missing information, and billing issues that require resolution.
• Resubmit corrected or adjusted claims and track their status through completion.
• Communicate with providers and internal stakeholders to gather documentation and clarify claim-related questions.
• Verify that billing data entered into the system is complete, accurate, and aligned with payer requirements.
• Support special billing projects driven by increased workload and changing operational needs.
• Investigate claim denials or payment delays and take appropriate follow-up actions to support reimbursement.
• Maintain organized records of billing actions, account updates, and claim outcomes.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in medical billing or a closely related healthcare billing role.• Hands-on experience with Medicaid billing, insurance claims, and medical claims processing.
• Familiarity with health insurance workflows, including claim review, correction, and resubmission.
• Ability to research account issues, reconcile billing discrepancies, and follow through on open items.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, reviewing, and organizing billing data.
• Experience with Millin is preferred.
• Strong accuracy, organization, and communication skills in a deadline-driven environment.
Compensation
