Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support accurate, compliant payroll operations for a large employee population based in the west metro. This hybrid role plays a key part in delivering timely pay, maintaining payroll records, and working closely with HR and Finance to resolve issues and improve processes. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage recurring and non-routine payroll cycles for salaried, hourly, incentive, and commission-based employees while meeting all processing deadlines.
• Review time entries, personnel changes, benefit deductions, leave activity, and retroactive updates to ensure payroll information is complete and accurate before each cycle is finalized.
• Reconcile payroll results against supporting reports, manual payments, banking activity, treasury records, and general ledger data to maintain financial accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records related to earnings, taxes, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and timekeeping, ensuring documentation is current and audit-ready.
• Process manual and off-cycle payments as needed, including adjustments that require special handling outside the standard payroll schedule.
• Monitor payroll-related workflows in Workday, oversee time and absence entries, and upload files such as commissions and payroll inputs into designated systems.
• Administer wage attachments including garnishments, levies, and child support orders in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, and Accounting to address payroll questions, support reconciliations, respond to employee inquiries, and assist with audits and year-end activities such as W-2 processing and tax notice resolution.
Qualifications:
• Experience handling full-cycle payroll with responsibility for accurate and timely processing across multiple payroll scenarios.• Knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and payroll compliance requirements involving federal, state, and local regulations.
• Background supporting payroll for mid-sized to large employee groups, including environments with several hundred employees or more.
• Hands-on familiarity with payroll and HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP Workforce Now, UKG Ready, or UKG Pro.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy when managing detailed payroll data and reconciliations.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and perform effectively in a fast-moving environment with strict processing timelines.
• Detail-oriented written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee matters confidentially.
