Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast-moving accounting team. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong accounts payable knowledge, sound judgment, and a consistent focus on accuracy and timely execution. In this role, you will manage critical payables activities, partner with internal stakeholders and vendors, and help maintain reliable financial controls and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable operations, including reviewing invoices, coordinating payment processing, and maintaining accurate vendor records.

• Examine invoices, check requests, and related support to confirm proper authorization, complete documentation, and compliance with company standards.

• Respond to vendor and internal accounts payable inquiries promptly, resolving payment issues, statement discrepancies, and account-related questions.

• Review purchase requisitions to verify coding accuracy and alignment with financial guidelines, budgets, and internal policies.

• Perform vendor setup and validation activities in accordance with established procedures and internal control requirements.

• Track outstanding liabilities through aging analysis and take timely action to address overdue items or exceptions.

• Prepare schedules, records, and supporting materials for internal and external audit requests.

• Contribute subject matter expertise to process improvements that strengthen efficiency, consistency, and financial accuracy within the payables function.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite for a minimum of 2 years and at least 1 year of experience using Coupa.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to work efficiently with detailed financial data.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable practices, bookkeeping fundamentals, and GAAP-based accounting principles.
• Experience processing ACH transactions, supporting check runs, and managing vendor payment activity.
• Solid understanding of 1099 reporting requirements and year-end accounts payable processes.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving ability, and a dependable approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining effective internal controls and clear communication.

Compensation

$28.00-$30.00 Hourly
