Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a construction and contractor organization in Farmingdale, New York. This role supports daily financial operations by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and helping keep accounting activities organized and up to date. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across payables, receivables, billing, and reconciliations, along with confidence using and ERP system and Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, ensuring financial records are accurate, current, and properly organized.

• Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and maintain accounts payable records in a timely manner.

• Create customer invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable activities.

• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

• Assist with billing administration by reviewing charges, verifying details, and maintaining supporting documentation.

• Use Microsoft Excel to organize financial information, track activity, and assist with account analysis.

• Collaborate with internal team members to support smooth accounting workflows and help maintain compliance with company procedures.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, including substantial exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing.

• Experience completing bank reconciliations accurately and consistently.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing financial data.

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented and dependable approach.

• Prior experience in construction, contractor, or a related operational environment is helpful.

Compensation

$70,000.00-$75,000.00 Yearly
