Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a manufacturing organization in Fresno, California through a Contract assignment. This position focuses on maintaining accurate invoice handling, coordinating payment activity, and ensuring financial records are processed efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to manage high-volume transactional work with accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices, verify supporting documentation, and assign correct coding before entry into the payable system.
• Process a large volume of accounts payable transactions while maintaining accuracy and meeting established deadlines.
• Prepare and support check runs by confirming payment details, due dates, and approval status.
• Enter vendor and invoice data into financial records with close attention to completeness and consistency.
• Reconcile invoice information with purchase orders, receipts, and internal documentation to resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with internal teams and vendors to address payment questions, missing details, and outstanding items.
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and ensure documentation is available for audit and reporting needs.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or closely related accounting support work.
• Practical experience coding invoices and processing payments in a structured business environment.
• Familiarity with check runs, invoice validation, and day-to-day accounts payable procedures.
• Strong data entry skills with the ability to manage high-volume work accurately.
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to identify and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
