Cash Application Specialist

We are looking for a Cash Application Specialist to join a growing Law Firm in Atlanta, Georgia in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This position focuses on applying customer payments accurately, supporting accounts receivable activity, and helping maintain clean and balanced financial records. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling a high volume of transactions, resolving discrepancies, and contributing to month-end accounting efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Apply customer payments accurately and promptly to ensure account balances remain current and properly documented.

• Support accounts receivable operations by researching unapplied cash, resolving posting issues, and assisting with payment-related inquiries.

• Manage a large weekly volume of high-value checks while maintaining strong attention to detail and processing accuracy.

• Reconcile customer accounts and payment records to identify variances and correct inconsistencies in a timely manner.

• Assist with month-end close activities by preparing cash-related support and helping ensure financial data is complete.

• Contribute to broader accounting tasks as needed to support daily departmental priorities and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience in cash application, cash posting, or payment processing within an accounting or finance environment.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable principles and the ability to support payment reconciliation activities.
• Proven ability to process high volumes of transactions with accuracy and consistency.
• Familiarity with account reconciliations and identifying payment discrepancies.
• Experience assisting with month-end close or related accounting deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation

$28.00-$34.00 Hourly
