Service Dispatcher

Compensation: $20.90 to $24.20 Hourly

We are looking for a Service Dispatcher to support daily field operations for a Contract position based in San Jose, California. This role is responsible for coordinating technician schedules, keeping customers informed, and helping ensure service calls are handled efficiently across residential, commercial, and municipal accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong organization, sound judgment, and a customer-focused approach to managing changing priorities throughout the day.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and assign service calls and project work to technicians by balancing availability, skill set, location, and service urgency.
• Update the daily schedule as conditions change, including emergency requests, cancellations, delays, and shifting customer needs.
• Track field activity and adjust routing or assignments to support timely service and efficient technician utilization.
• Confirm appointments with customers, provide arrival window updates, and respond professionally to scheduling-related questions.
• Maintain regular communication with technicians to relay job details, status updates, material needs, and any changes to planned work.
• Partner with supervisors and internal teams to prioritize open requests and align resources with operational demands.
• Enter and maintain accurate work orders, customer information, and service records within dispatch or field service software.
• Review completed documentation for accuracy and completeness, and prepare schedules, reports, and related operational records as needed.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in dispatching, scheduling, or service coordination within a field service environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage inbound calls and communicate clearly with customers and technicians.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while remaining organized and detail-oriented.
• Proficiency with computer systems used for scheduling, work order management, and recordkeeping.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make adjustments quickly when schedules or priorities change.
• Comfortable working with residential, commercial, and municipal service requests.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow through on administrative tasks consistently.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
